but why not buy return tickets to sgp, they have so much attraction sites, as night safaris and whatever - must be fun with kids...

you could buy onward tickets there...

worst thing could probably not be kidnapping-allegations, as you clearly intended to come back after a few days...

If it was me, I'd buy return tickets for a weekend away in KL or Singapore then get on a flight back to Blighty there. As long as they have all the necessary documents to enter the UK I can't see what the problem would be.

Get a flexi fare for the trip to SG in case you hit problems at immi.

Get a full fare for the return to BKK so you can either cash them in or use the value to change routes.

Marmite, Brit passports alone should suffice, shouldn't they?

Looper, Would you mind spelling that advice out a bit for me? At the risk of sounding dumb, it lost me a bit...do you suggest a flexi one way or return to Sg.

    Ticket vendor recommendations also appreciated.

Once again...thanks so much for the help!

You all seem to be making a big deal over a no problem, unless there is a court order, what do you have.
2 British kids going to the UK, end of story. Immigration are not going to detain 2 foreign kids because the mother could be a Thai, could be Lao or from Luton.
No family court order, no flag, no reason to detain, or what , is every single parent travailing in SEA is having their kids taken into custody at the airport.
They are British citizens and you don't detain or arrest aliens without a court order or arrest warrant..
May be a problem and questions asked if the name on the UK passport is not the same as yours. but only questions. Jim

^ Thanks Jim,that is what I am trying to say as well. Just look at the shear numbers of visitors to Thailand,a lot of families with kids, hundreds every day going out, leaving to catch flights. How many kids are stopped??? Has anybody seen them stop a child?

not sure if one can assume, that foreign immigration authorities dont care who is travelling with children, just because they are NON-nationals...
They can't and don't in this day and age of traffickers and International laws regarding such..

OP better check on the laws in the country you plan to fly from if that's the route you plan on taking, may be a lot more comprehensive and worse penalties which would then apply being in their jurisdiction.

Had decided on three one ways to London from Bangkok...kamikaze, and hope for the best. The last 2 posts give a reality check on doing so.

It's as i thought when I started this thread: precarious!

Way I see it, it's going to cost me those 3 one way fares to find out anyways....'He who dares, Rodney'

I have three kids on British passports and took them through Swampy on my own in 2010, no problem.

You will want to have a plan on how to get them to BKK for the trip without the wife/it knowing where you are. She may get wind and head for the police and call the airport to make your life miserable.

Now that you have "let the cat our of the bag," it may be tough to get your boys out of her sight for a long enough time.

    Just thinking out loud.

I was going to say same as rick, its best to keep her on side, small bribe to her will make her happy if you tell her a few porkies that you want to send her money from time to time, cynical possibly but the money will save you possible trouble
