2011 Floods : 21 fuel stations in BKK closed

21 fuel stations in BKK closed
    October 24, 2011 4:04 am

Floods cause temporary closure of 21 of total 782 fuel stations in Bangkok, according to the Energy Ministry.

Meanwhile, spokesman Patchara Naripthaphan said in a statement that fuel stations along highways have resumed operations.

"There’s sufficient supply of natural gas for vehicle to unflooded stations. We can assure all of no energy shortage during floods," he said.

He also denied reports that the ministry would delay the energy credit card scheme.

The scheme to help lower fuel cost for public transport providers would be launched on Dec 1 as planned, he said.

My taxi driver the other day said that CNG was in short supply; LPG was okay.

He was however a total lunatic, the worst of the most dangerous drivers, totally Chinese, as he took pride in telling me (hated the lazy Thais and the yakyakyaking Issan women...) with zero regard for road users in a way that got more car horns aimed in his direction than I have ever experienced before.

When we arrived at the destination (granted, very quickly...) he turned round and said: "I'm the best driver!" and asked if I wanted to take his card!!! I kid you not. Said he'd drive me to Chiang Mai where his daughter lived... We'd never make it... We'd be brown bread.

But, anyways. Anybody else hear that CNG was/is in short supply?

I have been told that the supply of CNG comes from Salaburi.
If this is true then distribution should not be a problem.

    Only kidding...

But, if the gas comes from the south or west, why is it stored in Saraburi?

Better hope the watr stays below the underground fuel tanks vents then or there will be some rough running cars getting about. Saying that there are already a lot of rough running cars getting about....
