    Back to the OP

I had a nice little Taiwanese sex machine for 14 years !
Now she is seeing real life, married to a mutual friend and living in Newcastle upon Tyne !

    Porsche 914
Mine was identical to this but was RHD which made it a rarity as only twenty were built.
Handled well but was dreadfully underpowered.

Never had a sporty car, in fact I'd never driven a car until I moved to Thailand.

Nicest car I've had here was a Range Rover, it was like being in a gentleman's club on wheels, I loved that thing. I sold it a while back because the maintenance costs were getting silly and at 4.6L it drank petrol too.

Some really nice cars in this thread though, as well a Gippo's Duc.

    Renault 5 GT turbo.

Not actually a pic of mine, just one off the net.

Mine was silver and was like shirt off a shovel. 192bhp engine. Top speed I had out of it was 137mph but the aluminum head melted after going that fast for about 10 mins. It had serious over heating problems, but It could beat most cars that it went up against. Chicks loved it!

Again, a photo of a photo, so not the best quality. Here's a nice pic, this one not mine: http://www.gulum.net/arabalar/resiml...56_02_1024.jpg

Here's my current beltway bandit... I drove a friends a while back and fell in love with it... Drives & handles like a go-kart with 35-series tires and being supercharged it has plenty of punch... Too much fun for blasting through traffic...

^^ No, why would it need one of those??? They're made by BMW these days, so they're reliable...

^ It's small, but not that small... I'm 6'2" and fit nicely...

I had a yellow one with the original 2.0 fuel injected engine. It got an honest 45 mpg's. Great autocrosser.
My first Porsche was well worn 1964 SC cabriolet
Delightful car bought it for $500
This restored one is probably worth $40k now.

The early models were 1.7 litre injection, I could manage 40mpg on a long run
You must be a feather foot to get 45mpg.
Back in the mid 70's it was the worlds most economical car at 100 mph giving 33 mpg

You had to keep the speed under 70 mph. The 2.0 engine had reasonable torque and the gearing was tall. [at]70 mph the engine was only turning about 2500rpm.
I was very light and had descent aerodynamics. Easy car to work on too.
