But you feel shitty every morning when you're home. Usually Heineken induced though.

Sweet, tell em you want a new truck for your appearance payment, they can keep the old one (with all the fruit removed) so they can take in on their travelling promotion circus.

Real good to hear you are not hurt Rigger, that must have been a nasty experience, those trucks do crumble up real good with the modern crumble zones built in, hope you get a decent truck back from the repair shop, it does look quite badly damaged.

Anyways as long as you where not seriously hurt that's the main thing, and no trouble with the insurance.

Personally I wouldnt drive it again once it has been repaired. For a decent repair, it will have to go on one of these:

A proper body jig, and have the folded areas pulled out using hydraulics and chains. The part of the chassis that acts as a crumple zone is now permanently damaged. By being bent during the impact of the crash, the metal that the crumple zones are made of are now "work hardened" and will not perform as intended during another impact.

For a proper repair, most of the steel structures / beams at the front should be replaced. This will have a detrimental effect on the overall integrity of the vehicle.

If it were my car Riggs, I'd be looking to be getting rid of it at the first opportunity.

I am very sure that what the SPIN says is true, I have a friend that did the striping on that PU in my AV and sent me the pix, so I have a call into him now in the states and he has a big body shop and one of the frame jigs and he do know., so when he calls me back I will get back to ya.

I will be checking on the car as they do it so I should be able to see more of the chassis and how badly damaged it is once it is striped down.
One good thing is its not being farmed out to a back yard shop
Does anyone know if it is a single piece chassis or can you replace the front part as on many older Australian cars.
After being in a major accident does it get recorded any where on the car papers ?
I really thought they would write the car off

Seperate Chassis Rigger, much like a holden 1 tonner, damage looks high (above chassis) so chassis might be fine.

Having said that, guy here at work smashed his Tiger (Hilux) pickup, severe LH front damage to body and chassis, was repaired as good as new, took em 4 months though.
