and the BIB are hardly known to be fair and impartial, are they now?

Inform the police, and hopefully they'll ask the neccessary questions to determine her guilt, or lack of it. She might end up being innocent, but i'm sure she won't be surprised about being questioned further about her accident when it's occured the same day as a hit and run.
