Couple of years ago, I posted a garage full of bike. There were two Evos and two Twinkies. The next month, I rented a 3200 sq ft. shop on a main Highway near the junction of two busy California highways, put the Twinkies out front and sold 'em first day. I tore this bike down and found it needed more than I had time for so I had the tins painted and the frame powdercoated. Tore the engine down, wrapped up the pieces and put 'em in the rafters Built a few cars, flipped a couple easy fixes. Last October/November pulled hte bike pieces down and started on it.
Here's the before Pic:
aaaand....
LOUD, FAST & LOW. Here it is; bathed and polished. Tachometer is a little wonky, replacement is in the mail (I hope). It goes back to the painter tomorrow for color sand and a buff. After a couple coats of wax it goes on the block.
Each time I take it out in the country for acceleration trials It blows my mind. Quick, free revving, and fast. Stops like a sport bike accelerates like a drag bike, handles like a dream. I've put it though it's paces, it's low, capital "L" Low. I drag the right peg on a hard corner, like a 15 MPH corner at 40, hard. The left side drags the kickstand, I might modify it, might not the difference of angle is only a few degrees and you gotta be trying
real fucking hard to see how low you can go to drag either side. (I was testing, I had to.
)
I believe this is an easy mid to low 12 second bike, maybe high 11s if you got a light and skilled rider on it. It is still a great little bar-hopper and has great street manners, it is a kick in the ass to ride. and If I were a younger man I would not hesitate to ride this bike to anywhere in the country. Seating is surprisingly comfortable and I don;t see a problem with long rides at all.
New powder coat on the frame and other bits, new paint is blue pearl on vivid black; "Midnight Blue". Everything has been gone through on this bike from wheel bearings to engine and transmission bearings. The heads have a professional three angle valve job I blended the valve seats with the ports. it appears to have had the heads turned (milled) a little before I tore it down. Price will be set on the day I put it up. it ain't gonna be cheap. I built this bike to sell, but, I really like it; A LOT. I set my price and probably won't be too negotiable on it. For now I am enjoying shaking it down and tweaking anything I deem not right.
*Hey Stroller! Here's a fresh one for you to red; you miserable, low-life scum-sucking junkie.*
