The previous bike I was thinking about was the Triumph Thruxton, but I could not justify the price. The small number of service centers was also an issue since the closest one to me was about 150km away in Khon Kean.

My advice to everyone is to purchase sooner than later, ot that opportunity may just slip away.
Since bike but make sure it has the latest spec valves as there is a recall on all models from 2010 upwards.

A Triumph dealer has opened up about 2 kms away from me so I was very tempted to getting what would be my 4th Bonneville. Also, it would be my last ever bike too.

My eyes caught onto a Scrambler (bonneville engine and frame by the looks of it) but was 200k more than the Bonneville models. OK, different forks and exhaust but.....an extra 200k? wtf?

Might wait to see the actual price of the new Africa Twins.

Silent recall a few months ago, some 2015 models were affected. However, most have the incorrect valves and require a top-end rebuild. There is a pretty large waiting list. I am 300+ in the queue with others been 500+

You might be lucky but I would definitely get the details of the valves in the bike and makes sure the part codes match the ones Kawasaki are instructing dealers to replace.

both intake and exhaust valves have been changed:

    Intake: 12004-0015 superceeded by 12004-0706

    Exhaust: 12005-0735 superceeded by 12005-0742

In Oz Bought RMZ450 for me and a QR 80 for my son.
Currently fitting out the RMZ with long range tank, DRD race exhuast and changing sprockets as I now have hundreds of Klm of bush as a back yard to play.
Have been looking at the trail tech GPS as well.
Still have a HD in Thailand for the holiday trips

What about the 2016 models? Did they receive the new valves? Great info, by the way.

I think my ER6n is 2010, will have to get it checked, cheers!

Triumph Scrambler is not built in Thailand I believe, hence the extra price tag.

I'm holding out for a Speed Triple, but only if they start to build them here.

You would hope that 2016 models have the new valves. Won't hurt to ask though.

I believe your frame number should start with the letter A to be eligible.

Thanks again. Just to clarify, if the frame number starts with an A, the valves are OK?

No, I was under the impression if it starts with an A, you should get 'em checked. A to be eligible to a check.

For want of a better word.

Cheap too with a 30k deposit and 3k per month for 2 years.

Well, I picked up the bike and the first letter on the frame was a J and not an A. I believe the J designates the bike was made in Japan. Does an A designate Asia?

I will send along some pics soon.

Finally got around to taking my Versys in to be checked today. (I have a serial number starting with 'A'). Anyway, mine is booked in for December 7.

    Mine has an A.

I'll get it checked soon but just arrived in Korea for 5 weeks.

Took it to get the name changed and they refused to pass the check with aftermarket exhaust, lucky I got the stock one in a box. Weighs a ton.

Looks like I got my Kawasaki 900 sold so will have to look for something else but not till later on in the year. The Thai guy is supposed to pick it up next Saturday. Hate to see her go but just didn't have the money to fix it right now.
