Couple of things. Hydrogen will play a large role in heavy industry/heavy transport/people transportation ... as in buses etc.
Depots can store Hydrogen for refueling. Difficult to see the Hydrogen car for Mum and Dad anytime soon.
EV's are evolving. I've just read the MO for a 'Range Extender' EV ... piqued my interest.
Smaller battery, thus small curb weight, less detrimental environmental impacts due to using a smaller battery.
Because of the 'Range Extender' it removes the 'Range Anxiety' associated with a 'pure' EV.
The battery charging ICE would be rarely used as most car use as "the worldwide average Daily Driving Distance for passenger cars is only 25km - 50km." Worldwide Daily Driving Distance is 25-50km? What about AU, US, UK, EU, and....

Range extenders, most often referred to as REX vehicles, are generally a type of plug-in hybrid.
Range extenders are purely electrically-driven vehicles which use a combustion engine as a generator.
The combustion components have no mechanical attachment to the wheels to cut down on complexity, weight, and the size of the required engine.
The most notable range extender model sold in Australia was the BMW i3, although Mazda is looking to re-enter the range-extender space with a version of the MX-30 in the future.
Range extenders typically have smaller batteries, as the engine as a generator instead makes up for their lack of purely electric driving range.
Nissan’s ‘e-Power’ hybrids use a similar layout to a range extender, as they only drive the wheels via electric motors, using the engine to generate extra power, although as they have hybrid-sized batteries and cannot be plugged in, they are instead a type of hybrid, and not technically a range extender.

having a normal sized BEV allows you to use it to power your house - when aust rules get sorted - this will also lower your electric bills either via kWH price shifting or storing your excess solar - if you are not planning a trip the set the program to maintain minimum in your batt and use the rest

If advanced technology for infrastructure and vehicle range is causing difficulties in the west (USA) then there is little hope elswhere.
Reticence and anxiety is common when people face changes, especially changes as dramatic as this.
Government intervention is only aimed at virtue signaling, and the hybrid seems the most likely first step for most buyers. It helps with concerns over infrastructure, charging facilities, and vehicle range capabilities.
Without improvements and incentives, any government intervention is weak at best. The big hope for Co2 emissions reduction will not happen, as the concerns of the public will not go away.
Third world and developing economies will be unable to ban ICE. The market demand for ICE will likely benefit the third world more than government intervention in the west.

Electric vehicle (EV) sales volumes set another record in Q3, as total sales of battery-powered vehicles jumped past 300,000 for the first time in the U.S. market. Year-to-date EV sales through September reached just over 873,000, putting the market firmly on track to surpass 1 million for the first time ever. The milestone will likely be achieved in November.
Total EV sales in Q3, according to an estimate from Kelley Blue Book, hit 313,086, a 49.8% increase from the same period one year ago and an increase from the 298,039 sold in Q2. Most automakers posted sizeable gains over 2022, with Volvo, Nissan, Mercedes and Hyundai delivering increases above 200%, thanks mostly to new products entering the market. In Q3, 14 new EV models that did not exist one year ago were in the mix, including Chevrolet Blazer and Silverado EVs. (The new Chevy EVs had very low sales – just an initial few to mark a Q3 launch). The EV market is transforming, to be sure.
Electric vehicle sales accounted for 7.9% of total industry sales in Q3, a record and up from 6.1% a year ago and 7.2% in Q2. As Cox Automotive has been reporting, higher inventory levels, more product availability, and downward pricing pressure have helped spur continued linear growth of EV sales in the U.S. market. EV sales have now increased for 13 straight quarters.

You gormless fuck. Roll on ships have a system that starves each deck of oxygen to put out fires. Even if a land rover caused the fire , it isn't what caused it to be a runway fire. These EV fires can't be put out by cutting off the oxygen. So none of the safety systems work as intense anymore with EVs on board
