1947 Hudson Commodore 6. Shown here near the Canadian border in Jackman, Maine ~500 miles from home in Long Island, New York. My father learned to drive it after my my mom died and he would drive up in one day to the log cabin we rented for his two week vacation from being a single dad . Always stopped at Howard Johnson's for clam strips and an ice cream cone - don't remember any of us three kids getting carsick.Post the family car when you were a kid.-longpond_1_1959-jpg

Nah it’s a gem of a motorcar if it’s got four cylinders and devil spawn if it’s a V6.
Those 145 and 245 / 244 wagons and sedans were unbreakable.
The engines started life as a pommy pump motor or something.

Yep, we fucking never owned a car, despite Dad being a Transport Sargent in the Army.

Meaning also that we didn't travel much ...
Where did you grow up? You must have still ridden in some cars as a kid. Do you remember what any of them were ?

We got 50's , 60's and 70's iron but not much of 80's. I thought you'd have an 80's contribution

I really have no idea, and to be honest, have absolutely zero care about what Gen B, C, X T, Zoomer-Boomer or whatever means.

A few of which may actually have been a car advertised by Thierry Henry.

I was born in the 80's and like BBQ ribs, if that makes a few of you weirdo-losers sleep better.

This was our very first car, ooh we were so proud at the time. I think I was four-

But it was blue- a 1960 Ford Consul.

1970. We had a family holiday in a caravan park near St Maxime. Dad drove a Morris Oxford. We broke down due to overheating rad. I was four but still remember the ferry and dinner at the hotel /restaurant en route. Happy memories of building a sandpit on the beach too.

In the same class as the car I remember my parents had. Early 80's , Pontiac 6000. Automatic, big boat style. The car lasted a long time, as it was handed down to me as my second car. My first car was a Chevette Scooter (hatchback), standard.

My first car, Chevette Scooter.. was a nightmare in the snow!

Some really nice cars on this thread. AO's middle orange car is the car from the 70's tv show, 'The Duke's of Hazard'

    Well that didn't work.
We had Ford Anglia like the one in Harry Potter.
