    some pics

    My poor moto.

This the front swing arm pivot which took the brunt of the hit

The police had parked the bike right under the eave of a shed where water was pouring on it. After 12 hours in the garage it's still dripping water!

I know many people take them off. I kind of like the ugly "beak". It also serves the function of channeling airflow into oil cooler.

Overall I prefer the "anti-Harley look". No self respecting Harley rider would be caught dead on something this freaking ugly!

Good result from a nasty incident.
I appreciate your fears after the event.
I drive from Sattahip to Laem Chabang each day to work and it's a nightmare trying to outguess Thai motorbikes and dogs.
I see an accident at least each day.
Well done. Who is doing the repairs?

    Mr Earl,

ChonburiSuperbike used to have a decent selection of BMW parts.

The guy is knob mind, but he always had a good selection.

^Thanks I'm going to have Dynamic motors in BKK do the work. I'll mention it to Khun Yut. I got transport to BKK lined up today.

Since the woman is partly responsible for the accident, how much is she going to chip in for your repairs?

Sorry to hear about your mishap, maybe you are suffering from post accident shock, I am sure that you wouldn't have been riding at more than 80 Kph, would you?
Hope that you are soon feeling better, and when you do, borrow or rent a bike and go for a quick blast, it will soon restore the confidence level.

From the damage and how far the bike slid seems to indicate about 80kph.
By the time I get the repairs done I should be over the shock.

As I recall we had another rider have a accident a while back. I also remember there were a lot of negative comments about how he would be screwed by the police. Things turned out to be not as bad as thought by others.
Hang in there. Hope your injures mend and you will be as good as new very soon.

Maybe you have a good reason now for riding a Moto Guzzi?
In my opinion the Guzzi will be a lot stronger.
But it is good to know that the driver of this German vehicle is allright.

If i was twenty or thirty years younger would love one of these superfast Japanese machines. Thirty years ago would have been most happy with a Moto Guzzi Le Mans, now would happily settle for a Moto Guzzi Californian.

Well I reluctantly sold my heavy and slow Harley two years ago and sadly vowed never to ride again in Thailand. I've owned and loved bikes throughout my life but after 6 years of riding it only occasionally, too many close calls, too many people merging without looking, too many crazy overloaded speeding farm trucks, blah, blah, especially in Phuket and in the south. Earl is fortunate he escaped serious injury.

That was one of the reasons that I sold mine, the bike has a great engine very fast, but in my opinion the frame and breakes, is not a good mix with 164hp..
