How to tell year of car?

Is there a way to tell the year/month that the car was made?
If I buy a car and register it now, it will obviously be registered as 2017 but maybe made in 20015.

I remember hearing somewhere that there is a manufacturing date somewhere on the car.

A car of mine was made in 2008 and first registered in 2010.

It said this in the blue book.

Try doing a V.I.N. search. Find a site on google and put the number in.

If you can't find the date, check the date on the tires. Will at least give you a clue.

Usually the first two digits is the week, and the last two, the year. 2516 for example.

I am referring to new cars, of course.
