Getting a 5 year licence

My temporary licence expired in August this year whilst I was away. Now I'm back can I get it changed to the 5 year?

Yes you can. Funnily enough you have to wait until it has expired before you can change it.

Excellent. Yes, I realised it must first expire but someone told me it had to be renewed immediately.

I actually delayed ny renewal by a couple of months. It was just gash admin on my part.
As my birthday falls on the 30 march and I delayed renewal until 2 April, I got nearly a full year extra on renewal. You get 5 years plus the period up to your next birthday.
