The black car looks very much like it is based on a Volga design, or could it be a Moskivitch?

Watched the Goodwood races yesterday and in the saloon car race there was a Russian car Gaz or Moskvitch. The pit crew were dressed in Russian military uniforms, stood by the pit wall and saluted every time the car went past.
