Quite accidentally I did find out what this was.

The windscreen and glass sorted of reminded me of a Lancia Stratos:

Bertone, the guy who designed the Stratos, had also designed and built a futuristic looking wedge as a one off concept called the Stratos Zero.

Aha I thought to myself, I know what Bob's posted. I'd better just check first:

A wonderfully sexy looking beast for 1970, but it wasn't the car in Bob's picture.

Happily though Google spat out a picture of another wedge-shaped Zero, this time a Dome Zero:

A 1975 Japanese take on a supercar. I love the way they seem to have borrowed ideas from other cars of the era. The nose looks distinctly Ferrarri 365 BB:

Things seem to go a bit pear shaped the further you get to the rear - windows in the doors which turn into air vents etc.

Here's a bit of trivia for you though. Apparently the Dome Zero was used as the inspiration for the vehicle that Rodimus the Transformer transforms himself into when he gets fed up with clumping around on two legs and shooting at things:

    Betcha didn't know that...

I'm clearly living in the wrong part of Isaan. Mud we have aplenty at the moment but it attracts quite the wrong type of vehicles (and drivers).

This is the best entertainment I've had in the last two weeks:

We had some land filled in front of the house and were also getting some work done inside. The ceiling contractor was very proud of his new pickup truck and always parked it on the newly filled soil at the front of the house (which irritated me no end) rather than around the back with the other assortment of Isaan motoring debris.

Anyway, one day it pissed down with rain, and when he came to drive out he got well and truly stuck.

Oh how I laughed (quietly though as they were doing a decent job of the ceilings and I didn't want to piss them off too much).

The next day they arrived in some beaten up old jalopy. Much more in keeping with the quality motors of my usual contractors.

Gosh, there's a car in the picture, I sort of missed that.

Yes, I think you're right, it's definitely a Camaro and you know what, extra points for the added Transformers reference, gives a bit of continuity to the thread. Apparently 2010 was when Chevrolet released the Camaro Bumblebee.

Here he is doing his stuff:

    Quite impressive.

Well yes, on reflection you're spot on Kurgen. There could be little better than simply sitting and watching things develop.

^ got to agree Ratch, this is one of the few places I've actually been glad of having 4WD, though at the moment I'm borrowing a 2WD Hilux and have to keep reminding myself that I'll get it stuck (and I do).

Rear wheel drive in an empty pickup, fun in 2 inches of the clay-like mud we have here but much more than that and it rapidly becomes game over.

For a Thai Kwai yes , but the idea is to load the back of the pickup to get traction.

Nice the way they added an inflatable wife to the wing mirror, do you remove heels for close parking?
