Hey Jimmy, I heard that your girlfriend is getting a new car, is it a Nissan Almera?
What about a supercharger? Fancy one of those as well?
They sound very very boring though.....
God i have to find something else to do.
back to (Some lovely rear ends) thread
Turbo chargers are lots of fun. Every small block should have one. Nice power boost.
Friend of mine worked for Garret Air research back in the 70's. They supplied turbochargers to Peterbuilt, Mack and the indy cars. He put one on his 72 Ford Pinto and the results was 20% more power. Took off like a rocket when it kicked in. We would go airborn crossing some of the uphill roadways. Lots of fun.
Thanks Jimmy for the reminder.
Had a picture of an oil lined engine bay that if i could find it would show you how they don't work.
The result, when driving, got me thinking about putting insecticide in the exhaust system and driving around the neighborhood.
Blown up engine no doubt? Not that they don't work you just need to keep it within the red line. Far to many truckers in use to say they don't work.
I watched the vid - but would point out that at no time did he mention that the supercharger is powered off the camshaft, so any power gain is subtracted from the power needed to run the thing. Turbos sound like a better idea as they are powered of exhaust gases whcih would otherwise just disappear out of the car's clacker.Originally Posted by Troy
