    Do you have personal experience with doing this? Importing a 2nd hand engine that is.

    I am contemplating importing a 2nd hand diesel from the US.
    It is a car engine, (Toyota/Lexus), but my plan is to import it
    to replace an engine in a boat.
    Duty on mechanical stuff for boats is very very low and free of tax as far as I know.

    I have tabian ruua in my name and it lists a similar engine.
    Any chance of convincing the Customs people that this engine
    is for a boat and not a car?
