Do you ever let - on in the company of Thais as to the true extent of your thai language abilities. Whether its azzhole colleagues at work, or hi-so wannabes at some shite "social" event, nothing is better than hearing some ignoramus making some pithy comment about you, only for you to riposte with a sharp comment.

There are perks to knowing more than the opposition thinks you know, but as a downside (upside?) under those conditions, it's only a matter of time before a sniper lets loose.

I prefer to let them find out for themselves, though my Thai is far from what it ought to be by now, and I get lost as soon as they start rabbiting among themselves at their own pace.
