What's the correct way to Report spam?

We are getting heaps of spam here lately.

So when I see multiple posts from one of these cretins, is it best to report only 1 post and let the mods sort it out, or do I report a few of them?
I don't want to bombard the mods with heaps of reports, if it only takes 1 to start a chain reaction.

For me, only one post needs to be reported as I will then simply select all of his/her/its posts and dump them in one go. This is why you may see some idiot's post quoting a spammer. Feel free to red the idiot.

As for DD banning the spammer; it's nice in theory, but he's not here 24/7 and he doesn't bother to read all the posts in the mods room, so generally we're left with a situation of mods following spammer around the forum all day. Of course, you'd think he would trust his team to use the ban button properly (unlike his use of it) after 7 years of support, but it seems not.

After your comments the other day about not replying to there shit (ie: slagging them off), it occurred to me that I might be doing something else wrong.

It seems to be more prevalent on the weekends, and I am having to look at the "last poster" poster before I click on a thread.

Come on DD give the mods a bit more latitude, in banning spammers straight off.

Would it be easy/possible to set up a special delete all button especially for spammers, all mods could have that power and a seperate file could then be checked by the head honcho later to make sure there was no abuse of the mighty power to ban...

DD is missing the essential point. i.e employing dogs, but doing the barking himself. Trust your mods with such simple crap - until they fuck up or abuse the position, then change the mods.

Apart from banning posters, that's already how we do it.

I would hate to think what a regular, and avid poster gets in his or her mailbox, notification-wise.
