    One leg in the grave.

Enough of this shit, now it gets serious or else the alternative is a ticket out of here way to early.. That was more or less what my doctor told me today....
BP at 179/125, pulse normal, weight 158kg, height 190cm, and cholesterol is to depressing to even talk about...So diet time is coming up, so if I in the next few month sounds like a real grumpy twat, then you all know the reason why...

The way I see it - those extra years you add on your life by being healthy are the ones you spend in a nursing home in a nappy.

Better to burn out than fade away.

Hey Dalton, hope you get back on track with your healthy regime soon.

Take it easy.Main thing is to eat right and kick the bad habits (if you have any) before they kick you.Look upon it as a new lease in life combined with excercise and you should be OK,don't let it get you down.

Hey Shitman, that comment was uncalled for.Dalton is not carking it he just had a wake up call.People need to address them and life goes on.

    Jeez Dalts,

You really need to get a handle on your health, the big problem is that you might not die and only have a massive stroke mate.

If you die your lucky as its all over and you don't know the difference but if you have a stroke you will wish you were dead as your life is foked anyway.

My mum had a stroke, paralyzed down one side of her body and took 2 years to die so I know first hand how serious this scenario is.

The high blood pressure and cholesterol are a disaster waiting to happen and if you have a good doctor he will bang you on medication straight away to get these under control.

If he ain't done that I'd be off to a top quality hospital and see a new doctor, once your on the medication you can start to work on your weight, diet and exercise.

Don't fok around mate as you are a walking foking heart attack waiting to happen.

Good luck Dalts, and start turning your health around today.

Do research on the web about blood pressure and cholesterol.

Did the doctor recommend going on medication (Lipitor)?

Eat Oats: it lowers cholesterol significantly in most people.

At 158 Kilos you are obese.

    Artheroscloerosis?

For blood pressure there are bananas, reducing sodium and many of naturo-pathic means to lower it in mostmost people.

    What is your family history?

    {Is this a wind up?}

It would be excellent if we could just burn out and die but unfortunately more people end up disabled because of a hard life style, bad diet and lack of exercise.

Foked if I want to be disabled in Thailand but if you think its OK just keep plugging away mate.

The smart money is on the fella that plays the 50 - 50 game, that being 50% party time and 50% health and fitness time.

Its not hard if you think about it .

First things first, two aspirin per day.
Cholestorol can be controlled. I'm afraid that means more veggies (raw is best), less meat and spuds.
Booze- you can still drink in moderation, as long as you don't forget above. Red wine in moderation is good for cholestorol.
Smoke- I hope not. You'll need to give up- unless you want to continue hardening your arteries, that have high cholestorol and blood pressure.
This should also lead to a drop in your blood pressure.

Only if Dalton does not drink any alcohol.

If you take aspirin and drink alcohol, even minimally, it is very bad for your liver.

Dalton needs to provide a lot more information about his lifestyle and family history and dietary and lifestyle habits.

If he wants to. It's up to him.

I hope he does. We are all in this together.

Far better than Aspirin is Cayenne pepper, look up the benefits, start ASAP, begin with a small amount in Lemon juice and build up, I do about half teaspoon a day.
    Good Luck

Start taking 6 flaxseed oil capsules a day and that will help get the blood pressure down. Start walking an hour a day and cut your calories down to 1800 a day. No smoking and no drinking. The 2 aspirins a day are good.

Take it easy on the aspirin..two a day will burn a hole in your stomach..one baby aspirin is recommended. Lots of fruits and veggies..oatmeal with fruit and no sugar for breakfast..nuts are great but combining them with fruit at the same time will generate too much sugar...if you can find beets in Thailand one a day in the blender will work wonders on the BP. as for booze a couple of glasses of red wine or even a fine single malt scotch wont due you any harm..and they say sex twice a day is good for you so things aint as bad as you may think..good luck try to stay healthy

Ok, here it comes. I have always worked in very stressfull jobs the last 20 years and the last 8 have been for myself, lately there have been financialy problems, we had to close our evap-broiler farm and convert the whole thing to indoor super-intensive fish farming. Due to these problems I havent eaten on regular times, no exercies what so ever, and in genaral been eating to much junk-food.
Our family have problems with blood-circulation and strokes, so not good news there.

Try this Dalton, worked for my father who lived to be 84.

    Instructions:
Make sure you consume at least 4 glasses of water or diet soda per day. You can eat the soup at any time of the day or night.

    Sacred Heart Soup Recipe
    6 large bunches of greens
    2 large onions
2 green capsicums (peppers) try red
1 or 2 cans of tomatoes
    1 bunch celery
    1/2 head cabbage
1 package Lipton Soup Mix 1 or 2 cubes bouillon (not compulsory)
1 48 oz. can V8 Juice (not compulsory)
Season with salt and pepper etc.

Day 1 - Any fruit you would like to eat except bananas.
Day 2 - Any vegetables you want.
Day 3 - Consume as much soup as you wish. Consume plenty of fruits and vegetables.
Day 4 - Up to six bananas, all the skim milk you want.
Day 5 - Ten to twenty ounces of beef, a can of tomatoes, 5 to 8 glasses of water.
Day 6 - All the beef and vegetables you want.
Day 7 - Consume as much unsweetened fruit juices, brown rice and fresh vegetables as you wish. Again, eat at least 1 bowl of soup during today. Don't eat any bread or drink any alcohol, or carbonated drinks.

Incorporating the Sacred Heart Soup diet into your slimming program will help you lose the weight you desire. Be disciplined in your planning and execution, plan out your foods for the week and you will get there. Don't give in to temptation!

The doc wanted me to get down in weight quick and then work on a new diet from there.

Some things easy to start, free, no supplies required:

    1. Keep a positive mindset.

    2. Laugh often; try to remember some funny things. [We can start a 'Things to keep Dalton amused' thread if you want]

    3. Keep music on in the background. Something rythmic, like Santana; dance to the music, even if only parts of your body are moving.

    4. Are you diabetic? If NOT, don't eat or drink anything after 6:00 pm. Drink water or unsweetened tea when feeling hungry. You will wake up hungry, so have a big bfast and a normal lunch and burn it off during the day. After a few days, your body will adjust to "Eat bfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a pauper" routine.

    5. Resist the urge to take daytime naps.

Try this for two weeks. You will feel improvement in health and energy.

Keep us posted, and best wishes.

Dalton, if you have read all these bits of advice I am sure that you will feel even worse than when you came out of the doctors. Forget all this crap, and just do what the doctor say's, and you will be OK. Try and lose weight in your own way. Take things easy, do things at your own pace. Don't listen to all these knowalls on teak-door. Do your own thing. you will be fine.

Know how you feel. I had my gallbladder removed in February and there were two and a half million websites about it on Google.

But one website that I found to be helpful was the UK's National Health Service (NHS) Website, NHS Direct. Clear, simple explanations in the Health Encyclopaedia on the menu on the left hand side, or use the search function.

Linky: NHS Direct - Health & Medical Information

At the bottom of each section is a link to the next section. The sections follow this format:

    Introduction
    Symptoms
    Causes
    Diagnosis
    Treatment
    Complications
    Prevention
    Diagrams
    Related articles

    Good luck.
