Adding what I already once mentioned about my ingenious cane (patent pending) - also DIY.
The very important trick avoiding a hassle, everybody experiencing when put the cane away, always dropping down with a big bang.
The rubber block, enhanced on it's bottom by a glue pad that is just slightly sticking, thus helping that the cane doesn't drop.
The Glue Pad - as it is named - I incidentally discovered in a stationary shop - has its both side sticking. And I glued the tape by a hot glue to the rubber block, because sometimes sticking too much to the table and not to the rubber.
The thin black string is flexible and can be put over the hand for having the hand(s) free (e.g. for opening the door).
The cane is exceptionally not by acacia but by golden teak.
However, the top around the sink is acacia (DIY)...
