Sorry. I didn't mean to be harsh, Dick. I also really didn't expect you to sink to the level of schoolyard name calling, but it does make my point.
I simply meant that given your immaturity and lack of life experience as other than a cosmetics boy, you might be better served leaving adult topics to adults. You are obviously very comfortable giggling with the lower end posters - perhaps you should stick to what you know.
Mate, that's not harsh... just ribbing you back, no offense intended bro.Originally Posted by Davis Knowlton

Yes, assuredly, you are more experienced than me and I respect you and have learned a lot from the senior members here. That being said, I am an educated adult, so why are my 'opinions' any less valid than any one else?
For instance, I am probably more knowledgeable than most about health matters, but I don't belittle or begrudge anyone's opinion on a health thread, due to my specialist knowledge...
It's a free forum, if I say something stupid about politics, feel free to correct me, I'm still young enough to be open-minded to change my view about things..
Anyway, I apologize for my comment... peace.
I'm on a traditional seafood diet. When i see food I eat it. Just eat sensibly. Dont worry about high carb, low carb, low fat etc etc. Life's too short to live on eating shite you wouldn't feed your dog. Your genes are more likely to kill you than anything else(Unless you live in the U.S and own a gun or Thailand and ride a motorcycle).
If you are over-weight or have diabetes type 2 a ketogenic diet is a good way to combat these.
A guy in the next Village has diabetes type 2 and even though I have been telling him for years to change his eating habits he continues to eat unhealthy and inject himself with insulin each day .Yesterday he was in Hospital having some toes removed ,I'm sure if he had change his diet when finding out he had diabetes he would still have his digits .
Big Ol' Lucky Ol' Al.
Very similar to our handyman's case.
He had a leg removed at the knee 3 years ago, ended up hobbling around, working still, but slowly putting on weight by eating kanom, not keeping up with his insulin either, until last month when he got half his other foot removed, so can't get around much at all now.
Nice guy, just a sad case, he knew what he was doing.
“Is it not written in your Law, ‘I said, you are gods’? John 10:34.
How about a balanced diet without gross over eating and some basic daily exercise?
Yes 0 carb = lose fat but the masses will not be educated.
There's too much money to be made selling "low fat" yogurts that are full of sugar and the rest
Really the best move anyone can make with their diet is to cut right down on carbohydrates, specifically sugars, and starchy foods, ie, rice, potatoes, white bread, pastries and noodles/spaghetti,... also fried foods and processed foods like bacon and ham.
Avoid sweetened drinks and yoghurt, and don't over indulge in dried fruits, which have a high sugar content but no water.
Fresh, pure fruit juices are both nutritious and a source of carbs, but balanced with water, vitamins and minerals.
It's OK to have a slab of chocolate cake or a fruit pie or ice-cream every so often, like once a week, as long as you burn off those extra carbs with some walking and light daily exercise.
Increase your salad consumption, add more steamed or baked veges to the diet and more fruit.
Drink lots of water and any kind of tea or real coffee, without milk and sugar.
Alcohol, beer especially is just going to make you fat, worse than sugar in your coffees....like a couple of tablespoons of sugar per pint of beer!

This is the site that got me started
Excellent advice on that site!
I eat as much milk, cheese, yoghurt, whey ((full fat or not) as I like.
Chicken's my meat of choice apart from sardines or fresh sea fish.
Eggs,..around 4 a day.
Gelatine, precursor to collagen, is around 80% protein. A tablespoon dissolved and mixed into a shaker of whey powder, milk, yoghurt with added chocolate powder pre-heated in boiling hot water, and a teaspoon of ground cinnamon both for flavour and as antioxidants.
Make fresh fruit jelly, add a touch of honey or stevia if you wish, but also add vit C for the gelatin to convert easily into collagen.
Gelatin's good for rejuvenating cartilage and tendons, and improving elasticity of skin and bones, great for treating osteoarthritis, osteoporosis and rheumatoid arthritis, and brittle bones. You must eat it with Vitamin C for it to metabolize properly. Works a treat....keeps me supple.
I eat lots of ground up mixed nuts, a really good source of proteins and Vits B and E, especially, along with magnesium. Mixed with raw oats, whey and unsweetened acidophilus yoghurt, and cinnamon adds a nice touch....for breakfast
The same mix goes well with eggs or fish, add some garlic and chili.
A really delightful evening meal is half an avocado, a single sardine in oil or spring water, a tablespoon of cottage cheese, some lettuce or other raw green vegetable or fresh bean sprouts, a sliced tomato, some onion, and garlic, a sprinkle of chili, a dash of lemon or lime and a tablespoon of brewer's yeast, along with one slice of real wholemeal bread with butter (home-made preferably).
A glass of home-brewed stout (or a decent wine) completes the meal, followed by a few more slices of cheese, another slice of home-made bread and some fruit.....followed by a cup of tea or coffee.
All of that's a very low carb, highly nutritious and filling meal, no cooking involved either, other than the bread made earlier.
Bear in mind one thing, all those excellent foods, vitamins and minerals will not metabolize properly and a large amount will simply be wasted if you don't maintain a neutral pH.
It's a simple enough job to do that.
You can buy litmus paper strips to check your pH (mid-stream, 2nd pee of the morning) to check, then adjust upwards to neutral by taking either baking soda(sodium bicarbonate) or potassium bicarbonate powder in a glass of water if need be.
You can also check your pH after eating certain foods to get an idea of what you need to eat to balance your usually high acid food intake.
