    A Thai ambulance

Notice the ambulance with lights flashing and the siren blaring. Also notice the ambulance is not going anywhere fast.

But then again it is sorta hard to pull over for an ambulance to pass here in Bangkok. My advice would be to try and avoid this ride...

I wonder what percentage of people die because the ambulances can not get them to the emergency care they need.
I also wonder what kind of training those who care for the people have.
    EMT ? , Paramedic ?

And chances are, that if you do make it in time, they'll turn you away unless your well cashed up or have 2-3 insurance cards in your wallet.(if it hasn't already been lifted by the good Samaritans that helped you into the ambulance)

The Thai Govt. really needs to put in place a program to educate people on what to do when emergency vehicles are in route! This should be set on a high priority nation wide! It's a terrible thing when only minutes or even seconds count on lives saved.

    Unhappy

It really is astonishing how little life seems valued here. When we first arrived and an ambulance was battling it's way along the soi I would pull over only to have 4 cars jump into the space and the ambulance still not having made any progress. Until the idea that red traffic lights are not just for show, I doubt progress will be made and people will die needlessly.
