Lets get this sorted out from the start so our American friends don't get confused, crisps are made from Potato, the only crisps not made from potato are the hedgehog flavoured ones which are made from thinly sliced hedgehogs and those things made from corn etc such as danitoes which are quite nice but are not crisps, here is a nice snippet from wiki.

"Potato chips are commonly served as an appetizer, side dish, or snack."

Yes in America they are, but if you serve an Englishman a meal they do not want crisps with it, crisps come in a bag and are eaten from the bag, thats it, they do not want half a bag of crisps thrown over their Sunday dinner.

So onto our first offering, Thai onion ring crisps, these are damn good, 20baht a bag at all good 7/11 outlets, real nice flavour, albeit made of rice flour and corn grits, first time I saw these was last week and I have been buying them most days since then, they are made by calbee which makes some real awfull crisps so I was suprised at how nice these are.

Now these are my staple diet for travelling, really is nothing worse than pissing out of your arse after a local Thai dish between bus or train stops, these have great flavour and at 20baht a bag quite filling, much better than squirting a dodgy Pad Kappow out your arse 2 hours into a journey, probably no potato in them but well worth the money.
