    Bangkok Restaurant Guide

There are a lot of good restaurant reviews in TDs archives but its a bit of a hassle trying to search them all out so here is an attempt to collate them all in one thread. They don't have to be exeptional but as long as you can give them the thumbs up stick a quick review here. I'll kick of with :-

Near Sanam Luang ( walking distance )

The Pathe ( as in news ) on Atsadang Road opposite Saranrom royal gardens ( a very nice little park.) The restaurant is in a period building with internal furnishings to match. Food is Thai and western and most dishes come in at below 100 baht. I had a steak there and although it was of Thai proportions it filled the lunchtime hole. Don't know what its like in the evenings but apparently can get busy with locals. The park opposite is nice to walk off your lunch .

    Another favourite is :

Pahonyothin Park. You'll never guess where it is ! Yep, Pahonyothin Road about 500 metres North of the Laksi monument. and on the opposite side of the road to Tescos. This is a buffet place for a set price of 99 baht a head ( last time I went a few months back ). It is set around the Korean barbeque idea but with a lot more. They also have Isahn food ( gy yahng , nua yahng , som tam etc ) and a small sushi selection along with a lot of other stuff set in trays....even chips !
The atmosphere is good and there is a large artificial waterfall around the back.
They have draft beer in Yuaks and various beer girls to feast the eyes on. Gets very busy on the weekends and its best to get there for a 7 p.m. start before the hordes decend.
The sushi itself is worth the money and I always pig out on it.
For desset there is ice cream, cakes , various knom and fruit. All in all a good cheap place to put the feed bag on.
