    Kankitti Restaurant, Ayuttaya

Yesterday we nipped upto Ayutthaya and spent a few hours driving round aimlessly looking for a shop house, eventually marmite gave up so GOW gave the owner a phone call, once all that was sorted it was time to nip down Ken Mays house and then find somewhere to eat.

Ayuttaya is actually an island so there are quite a few restaurants over looking the river, they have many river cruises that are also restaurants but marmers gets sea sick.

Anyway we ended up at Kankitti Restaurant.

This I believe is the owners dog, he sits outside by the entrance every night to keep an eye on things.

The restaurant is quite nicely done out and couldn't be featured in the low end Thai restaurants thread, although they did keep sticking ice in the bloody beer, I threw my great big ice cube into the river, unfortuneately my aim wasn't so good and it smashed into the safety railing, still I think they believe it was Ken that done that

I ordered the old yam moo, this came with Katiam dong, ie garlic dong, about 30 of them I might add, now I do like garlic but I cant believe that anybody would eat 30 of them with one meal.

The rice was quite a nice suprise.

Marmite was quite upset that he had ordered the fried rice and they didn't bring it in a teddy bear shape, then he started whinging that his chicken curry had skin it, so GOW had to eat the skin for him, I really hope that my child doesn't grow up like marmite

Hey DD & Marmers: I know KennyM will be most pleased if you open the TD Bar in the Sticks...back-of-beyond...boondocks...baannok...

But i think you'll find more money through the till if it was situated a little closer to civilization

I'm not opening a bar. I'm not insane. I've got a weekend place sorted in Ayuttaya and when I figure out how to make enough money by not doing anything, I may move there full time.

And who the fark is KennyM?
