I like this guy, he gets a bit nerdy at times but the episodes are an enjoyable watch.
...and I like the comparison between pots in this one, especially the Kamira pot.

An excellent, knowledgable presenter. Thanks.
Agree.
He was world #1 barista of the year a few years ago, for what that's worth.
As my gran would say "they can do anything these days."
One of the world's most famous coffees, the Legendee is a unique enzymatically-treated coffee that releases flavors bound in the beans and not released under ordinary processing. The Legendee product is largely regarded as the world's most successful attempt to produce a coffee with the balance and flavor of the famous Kopi Luwak, or Civet/Weasel coffee. Trung Nguyen worked hard on achieving a new balance of Arabica and Excelsa beans in this formula.
This review of the Aldi £299 coffee machine is amusing...
Calais - Dover ferry, I vote as worst coffee ever. An Americano was served up as almost a pint of hot, brown water with just a vague hint of coffee.
I expect worse in the UK and at the same silly prices. I brought my coffee machine with me so at least I get a decent cup at home.
Well, Starbucks wasn't any better. A 'small' Americano was, again, almost a pint of hot, brown water, this time without even a hint of coffee flavour and at a silly price.
Why on earth did I come here?
Not to be contrary, but isn’t that the definition of Americano?
Order a double espresso and don’t water it down.
^ An americano is still a very strong coffee, if made correctly. Anyway, I had a reasonable espresso after a pub lunch yesterday.
^ Agreed, I'm sticking to pots of tea when I go out, and only if I get a porcelain cup. I dislike the cardboard cups that are a feature of modern times.
Jolly good cup of tea served with the oap Carol singer squad outside the local Waitrose this afternoon. Made me fell quite charitable for a change.
A trick to making coffee waay better - grind your own.
Preferably by hand, with a conical burr grinder.
True in the longish term, but ground is much easier when you're still waking up first thing in the morning.
My electric grinder now sits unused in the cupboard (if I even still have it, that is).
It's been a year since I ground my own and now go for pre-ground-Lavazza, of course.
I grind a weeks supply.
The coffee is grown 5 km away, picked by hand, roasted in the village and bought every 3 months.
Certainly gives the kitchen an inviting aroma, but not sure it improves the flavour of the coffee.
I'm back to my moka pot in thailand with illy coffee milled for the moka. Tastes good enough for me.
I will be getting a Barista pro or similar when I retire here though. Problem is I end up drinking too much coffee or adding it to gravy and cakes and, well everything really
Well why did you? lol
I used to drink the Americanos from Starbucks, but now I drink the Soy Latte with sugar free Vanilla and cinnamon on top.. it 'tis good.
Very expensive though.
I normally use my keurig sitting in my room to brew some medium columbian coffee 'Van Houtte'.
I also heard about keeping coffee in the freezer keeps its potency longer.
I would love to buy an expresso machine at some point.
Grinding your own coffee tastes better and has more antioxidants I was reading. So, there ya go!
The Benefits of Grinding Your Own Beans.
^^ I meant hand grinding vs machine grinding but I failed miserably to communicate that point in my post, sorry.
