I remember my parents always had loose leaf Typhoo and used a metal teapot. If it was my turn to do the washing up Id always get in trouble for washing the teapot in the washing up bowl as it made the tea taste soapy. You were only supposed to rinse it out.

I notice that these days my mum uses teabags... that would never have been considered 40 years ago.

Tea with toast is great... but I've never considered it with fish and chips.
