    Arroz (Spanish Restaurant)

...on Sukh soi 53...a fabulous Spanish meal efficiently served...a chicken liver amuse bouche, 2 appetizers (piquillo pepper, rosemary cheese and tuna; fois gras, runny egg and potato), 1 generous seafood paella (with imported bomba rice), 2 desserts (one of which was memorable: white chocolate ganache with crumble, passion fruit and mango) and 4 glasses of an excellent tempranillo red: a delightful meal perfect for a lazy Sunday repast...we're definitely returning...

Ditto for the Italian place on Soi 11.

Tom, Looks v nice. Your reviews are losing a little something without the price. I know, I know, if you have to ask and all that but ignore Buttfly and share the damage with us pls.

Annnnnd, i've stared at the reflections in the cutlery until my eyes bled but not a hint of checks...

it's probably overpriced, and poor value, but the deserts look very nice and might be worth the trip to that place for that alone

yes, costs please with or without wine, my low estimate is around 3,200 THB

and we do need gratuitous picture shots of Pierre,

The chicken liver amuse bouche looks like a perfect tapa. A couple of those with a nice cool barley based beverage would hit the spot...

How was the paella? Was the seafood fresh cooked....or was it something just tossed together?

If you'd PM me a price breakdown, I'd appreciate it.

@TC - great pics, as always. I always enjoy the visual feast that your resto threads bring.

Slightly off topic, but looking at the paella makes me remember the overweight Spanish guy cooking it with flair at Chatuchak Market. He was a showman and performed for his customers and passersby. I even have a pic with him, in my archives.

Does anyone know the story of that guy, and is he still cooking paella at that place? (and curious - does he have a work permit for doing that?) TIA.

    ^ No
But looking at the Paella dish it does look very overdone even caramelized, maybe taste better that way.

I used to shag a camel....I'd put a ciggie into the mouth of one like this and bang it so hard to make it a race to see who would finish first...
