Welll well well. I went to Taco Bell for my lunch today.

I actually intended to go to a decent restaurant and ventured into Central Chitlom to look for 'Paul' restaurant ... but I couldn't find it ... so I went across the road to Taco Bell instead.

I had a California chicken burrito combo for 179 baht. The combo included fries/chips and a soft drink, and you could fill up your Pepsi, Coke Zero, Sprite of Fanta as many times as you like, or at least for as long as your paper cup holds out.

The burrito was OK. It didn't go WOW in my mouth or anything but it was good enough ... and the chips, although obviously frozen, and although they called them fries, weren't too bad. Better than I expected. And the portions were plenty big enough for me.

The only negative factor was that the place was jam packed so it was hard to find somewhere to sit and I had to wait quite a while for the food to come.

...Paul is located in Central Embassy (Ploenchit bts stop or through interior passageways from Central Chidlom to Central Embassy)...

Thanks, tc. I found Central Chitlom a bit confusing (my first time there). There was a sign near the lifts that said there was a 'Paul' restaurant on the first floor so I looked there but couldn't find it. Then some helpful person told me I had to go inside the supermarket to find it, so I walked in there (and I bought some nuts - walnuts, hazelnuts and Brazil nuts ), but was then told by another helpful person to go deeper into the supermarket to find it. I went deeper and saw a few other shops inside (I found that strange) but no sign of 'Paul', so I gave up. Maybe next time.

Next time you need to open the hot sauce packets and apply liberally. You're welcome.

    Yo quiero?

Yeah, I didn't open them. I should have tested them I suppose.

There was a choice for the combo; fries or chips. I guessed the 'chips' were probably some corn type chips/crispy things rather than a just choice of US English or British English for fried potatoes.

As I said earlier, the food was OK but nothing special. I wouldn't rush back there but I would eat it again if it was convenient to do so, just like I sometimes do wth KFC and MDs. It's just another fast food option.

Here's a link with their menu on it. http://tacobellglobal.co/thailand/

No beef on the menu. A strategic marketing decision. Strange and probably a mistake.

Taco Bell crosses the river to Thon Buri

Taco Bell, the world’s leading Mexican-inspired restaurant chain, is all set to open its third location in Thailand at CentralPlaza Pinklao.

The key to Taco Bell here is, Can you surreptitiously smuggle out say 50 to 100 small packets of their hot sauce? Still have some here in my fridge. Damn good stuff and goes on or in anything.

Yeah right, you'll be first in line to be wedged, lubed, and levered through the door when they open in Patttaya.

Gotta say I wouldn't mind seeing one up north.

There's a Taco Tuesdays every funnily enough Tuesday in this place. Run by a Mexican too, OK Spanish but she speaks the same language and isn't an American franchise

    It's certainly 'cozy'.

Hopefully will be up on eatigo soon and you can giz a report.

There are a few awful ones up north. Loco Elvis being the worst, Miguels (microwaved shit, as reviewed by Aging One) is about the best unfortunately.

Gave up on Eatigo. They pull it all back with the ++ charges, smaller portions and drinks prices.

Eat too many calories eating out too,. Much cheaper healthier and better ingredients cooking your own food.

5 or 6 years ago before the kids left for the states we took the time to try and make a good crispy taco. Even used corn tortillas we had brought back from the states. I think this looks a lot better than what is delivered to the table in Thailand. Time to do it again. Some crispy some soft on flour tortillas..
