    Sunday Lunch near Soi 11

Ive tried Westin Ambassador and Imperial Queens,RobinHood ,The Dubliner etc

I'd like some beef for a change or failing that roast lamb doesnt have to be gourmet or big portions

    Maybe Rembrandt>

Last visit to convent rd was fine with Hoegaarden @200 a pop came in under a grand a head with tip.

I find eat all you can and ndian places with touts repellent.
Not sure wahts open Sunday afternnon say 2-5pm?
I like the German Brewry in Soi 11 do they do a Sunday roats my last visit to Bustop was with Hoota and the food was awful but company Steve and R liquid.

All tips gratefully accepted I'll be sating in Soi 13 near Citrus/Trendy the Ambassador buffet while cheap is dull the Imperial Queens Pk v good but a hike or cab.

I look forward to our gourmand connoisseurs rather than gourmet gluttons,I'm a tubb old sod but don't each much its largely due to beer if it wasnt for sex and cycling I'd be dead.

If you want cheap and cheerful in a decent place full of pool tables set back from the bar/dining area, that is right on your doorstep, then The Sportsman (next door to trendy on soi 13) could just scrape in to what you are looking for.

Only 200 baht for the roast. Don't be put off by the price. It's a decent dinner.

Gonna go and find a link for ya. Back in a minute.

or the no idea gastro pub on soi 22, about 50 metres down from sukhumvit. very very good food and a good wine selection. not cheap.

it is on the other side of the road to the imperial queens park hotel.

it is where larrys used to be, about 50 yards down from sukhumvit, just before you reach the execrable subways.

it is run by a new zealander called dave.

I did about a 2 years ago. Not good at all, was my conclusion.

Up Soi 11, I wouldn't recommend much that way in terms of food. Does the Aussie Bar do a roast? Other food usually not too bad.

Go to The Londoner, they are closing next Wednesday and are offering 2 for 1 on food (get in there Hooter)and 100 baht beers until they shut. I highly recommend their lamb shank with cranberry sauce.

Twenty four quid for a meal in Bangkok ? You must be joking ! I'd expect to have my car serviced and my laundry done for that much money. You may be a tax exile but you clearly don't know the value of money or else you came by it with very little work.

you cheapskate slave driving kii nok falang.

its the price you would pay for 2 mediocre courses in a high street grimy, atmosphere free, low to middling, ethnic restaurant in suburban england these days.

the landmark buffets consist of row upon row of tables groaning under the weight of the first class food laid out on them, one can sit for three or four hours enjoying a choice of good food and conversation with friends and family in a civilised atmosphere.

as an occasional treat, it makes a welcome change from the usual thai eating experience of poor service, nose picking cooks, forgotten orders, dishes arriving out of sync, the noise, the chaos, those awful thai kids running around like screaming dervishes and not forgetting the true signature dish that most thai dining establishments never fail to serve up, the padded bill.

Federal is history. Another condo. Just what Soi11 needs.
The Black Swan had a decent Sunday roast. Not far from s11. At Asoke junction. Not much of a walk.

The best English grub including a sunday roast in that area is in Jools Bar in soi 4 opposite the Rajah Hotel. In fact I have never had a bad meal there and it is cooked fresh not served cold from a buffet. Yorkshire Pudding to boot or you may wish to try their toad in the hole.

Not expensive, a dining area upstairs if you don't want to eat at the bar and there are pictures of me on the karzi wall.

I'm the one holding the plastic bucket....................
