This is the hi-tech factory with the latest safety equipment installed.
All ready for the Health & Safety Inspector who will arrive sometime this century.
The khanom packets on the left above are made from a batter mix.
Just squirt a blob onto the hot plate and close the lid.
Operator training takes about 3 minutes
This is the Banana Crisps being made.
You need Gluay Hack-Mok and pick them before they are ripened.
Just peel the banana and then slice them as fine as possible with a potato peeler.
The bananas are still firm so they slice easily.
Next the slices are fried in oil.
You have to keep moving them around to stop them sticking together
When they are done they should look like this.
We make two types, sweet and salty.
The salty ones you just add...yes you guessed it....salt
The sweet ones you add syrup and sesame seed
Then just bag them up and sell 'em
Excluding the equipment we only have to buy cellophane bags, oil and the salt or sugar.
The bananas and sesame we grow ourselves.

What's the shelf life on them? Do you place any silicate gel in the bags as moisture inhibitors?
No.Originally Posted by malice
Shelf life is about two weeks but shorter once the bag has been opened.
They look good, thanks for this..
Any idea of the banana to bag ratio and how much land are your trees on?
So simple to make, this be a good business venture, little outlay and using what you have.
good one dude.
do you do salt and vinegar flavoured ones?
Simple, stupid, best and wonderful photos of the process.
Going to try it or buy some, you should do some research and expand this little goldmine T.
I think that's poisonous isn't it?Originally Posted by malice

Hope not they use silica gel in my hypertension pills bottle in a perforated plastic bag although it does say do not eat. Would just be another expense for this endeavor. Looks like a good little business and keeps the locals employed.
About two bananas to a bag of crisps.Originally Posted by somtamslap
We don't have a lot of land but we do have several small plots.
The trees are planted in odd corners and along a river bank
You must have a fair amount of plants as I believe that they only produce one set and then they are worthless. to keep you going in bananas you would need quite a few.
don't know the species but most banana plants don't mature for quite a few months where they can blossom and produce a bunch.

Like anything, if you plant it, it will grow, hopefully, well not at the plantation......
