Dahlias - Growing in Nakhon Sawan

    Hi Guys,
I'm looking for advice on growing Dahlias in the Nakhon Sawan area as a friend has seen those I'm growing in the UK and has asked me to bring seeds over.

Has anyone grown from seed and if so when is the time to sow in Thailand?

In the UK you have to wait until the risk of frost has passed though so I'm thinking that anytime would be OK to sow seed in Thailand?

    Thanks for reading my post.

    TIA

    JD

Probably too humid in N Sawan in the plains of Chao Praya, unless on the hills towards K Phet,They grow on Myanmar borders at higher elevations where they have other names

    In thai

A similar mutation could transform the status of the dahlia. In a recent informative article, Normita Thongtham pointed out that the dahlia used to be known in Thailand as rak rae or “unstable love”, an unfortunate association, especially for a superstitious wife fearful of her husband’s potential infidelity.

Thanks for the reply David, I was told that they are grown in Nakhon Ratchasima.

Might be a case of having a go and seeing how they do.

I'll update the thread on how I get on later in the year.
