Yeah I have one Crepitas and nothing would give me more pleasure than to send you some pips , but alas its a seedless variety , I got it as a cutting from a friend about 5 years ago and even when it was quite small it started fruiting ,very likely cos it had loads of TLC

My BIL grows some beauties on the south coast Nsw . I remember as a guest , myself , he and his Sons were instructed to piss outside on the lemon trees rather than use the drop.
Not sure if it was for the toilets or the trees benefit to be honest !

Thought Citrus needed frost to sweeten?

They certainly used to taste better from my garden after a few frosts.

I purchased 20 young lemon trees and they were under my carport in the shade to be planted when rainy season started. My BIL is in charge of our garden and everything he plants seems to grow well. I will be returning home the beginning of November and I would expect that they were planted while I was gone.

I will give a report in a couple of months.

I seem to recall that they need cold temperatures to fruit. They might grow in the far north in Chiang Rai etc, but else where you might struggle.

Not sure bout Frosts lantern but I know for sure that the best time for my tree bearing fruit is in our cold season late Nov, Dec,Jan ,and mid Feb .

If you want/need to start from seed, have a look at the Makro. From time to time they have nice big lemons with lots of seeds, from Turkey.

It gets pretty cold up in the NE from December to March. Cold enough to wear socks, a wool hat and jacket at times.

By the way, frost will kill citrus. I grew up in southern California in the middle of a citrus (oranges) growing community and would go out and help light smudgepots that were used to prevent the oranges from being killed by frost.

Mrs Borey was interested in growing lemons, so she asked the nurserymen selling at the twice monthly local district market (in northern Sakon Nakhon province) if they had any. Eventually found a couple. We planted the small (3 foot tall) trees about two years ago. They are growing well, but have yet to flower. Limes grow nicely in this area, but other citrus don't do well. Believe that may be due to saline soil.

^ Like the man said, just buy some lemons at Makro. Damn cheap too. The ones at Tops are 5 times more expensive. I would think trees grown from seed would take 3 -5 years before giving fruit.

An absolute welter of info can be had on Youtube on growing Lemons from seed ,it would appear that stripping off the hard husk from the actual seed is the quickest and best way to germinate your seeds

Hi we grow both small limes and huge Lemons up in the Chiang Rai region bigger than a navies fist, we grew them from the pips original tree in Thai.
You could always buy large lemons from Tesco lotus and plant the seeds!
