    Hok kien

Here in Korat there is a plant called cha hok kien or just hok kien. One sees it in use all over Bangkok for topiary. Also in Lumpini Park and the National Museum. It is also used for screens and hedges. I have been trying to goggle up information on this plant with no results. Does anyone know the proper name of this plant or a link? Thanks in advance.

    Yes. The proper name

I believe you might be referring to the Carmona Retusa, not native to Thailand but propagates quite well.

From the Boraginaceae family of tropical varieties.

Sometimes referred as The Philippine Tea Plant.
Can be bushed down or allowed to tree out enormously - if it is the same variety that I am thinking of.

Try: ASEAN Tropical Plant Database....or any other type of directory/database of SE Asia flora. Easy enough to find.

    A photo would be nice.
Perhaps, I'm thinking of another species.

Edit: Ah....Dilly beat me to it. Must be the same.
