The 23-year-old USPGA champion emulated Luke Donald's achievement last year of finishing top of the list in Europe and the United States in the same season.

He closed with a 30-foot eagle putt for a 65 to edge one shot ahead of Thomas Bjorn at 10 under at the Sentosa Club.

Louis Oosthuizen and Matteo Manassero were both 13 under, Manassero winning the event at the third play-off hole.

Nathan Cleverly defends WBO title beating Shawn Hawk in US

Britain's Nathan Cleverly retained his WBO light-heavyweight title with an eighth-round stoppage win over American Shawn Hawk in Los Angeles.

The 25-year-old displayed superior skills and hand speed to record his fourth successful defence of the belt, his first in the United States.

He took some heavy shots but knocked Hawk down twice in round seven, with a left hook in the next ending the fight.

Cleverly's 12th win inside the distance extends his unbeaten record to 25.

It was the first time that 28-year-old Hawk had failed to go the distance in his 26 professional bouts.

He was only confirmed as Cleverly's challenger on Monday after original opponent Ryan Coyne was forced out due a legal dispute with promoter Don King.

"Multiple houses engulfed in flames. Even the police officers that got to the scene before I did were not sure what happened. Kind of a surreal scene, even for police officers," Marion County Sheriff John Layton told the station.
The cause of the explosion and fires wasn't immediately clear, but Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard dismissed reports of a possible plane crash as he arrived at the scene. Fire officials said separately that investigators would be checking whether natural gas was possibly involved but they had no further details on what was behind the blast that sent tall flames skyward.
