An investigation conducted by the Swiss government confirmed that Swiss-made hand grenades which were found with armed terrorists groups in Syria had been exported years ago by Switzerland to the Untied Arabs Emirates which gave some of them to Jordan.
The Swiss government issued a statement that the investigating committee discovered that the UAE delivered some of the aforementioned grenades to Jordan in 2004 to help it "confront terrorism" as per their claims, and that the grenades probably found their way to Syria from Jordan.

Lying hidden away in Dennis Hopper’s home until their discovery months after the artist’s death in 2010, this collection of photographs, exhibited in 1969-70 at the Fort Worth Art Center Museum, and now in Berlin, is a testament to Hopper’s prolific and enormous talent behind the camera. These photographs are spontaneous, intimate, poetic, observant, and decidedly political. While some are portraits of figures within Hopper’s circle of actor, artist, musician, and poet friends — including Jane Fonda, Paul Newman, and Robert Rauschenberg — they also include images from his extensive travels in Los Angeles, New York, London, Mexico, and Peru. Hopper’s abiding support of the civil rights movement and social justice is evident in his shots from the march on Selma and Harlem street scenes. Throughout this volume Hopper’s sensitive, keenly observant eye shines through, making it clear that he was a deeply committed chronicler of the events that were unfolding around him.

No sooner had Egyptian authorities painted over a wall of revolutionary graffiti near Tahrir Square this week than the street artists were back with spray cans and a new target: President Mohamed Mursi.
Seeking to restore a sense of normalcy to Tahrir, scene of the democratic uprising that swept Hosni Mubarak from power last year, the authorities have deployed police, evicted unlicensed vendors and planted palm trees, shrubs and flowers.
But the move to whitewash graffiti charting the course of the revolt and the turbulent 18 months that followed was a step too far for the artists. They congregated to spray murals expressing anger with the government.
"This work embodied many things: the martyrs, the military regime and a people looking for freedom and democracy," said Ahmed Nadi, a political cartoonist, as he spray-painted caricatures of the bearded, bespectacled president who was elected in June in Egypt's first free presidential vote

Australian Roman Catholic Church admits child sex abuse
https://teakdoor.com/images/imported/2012/09/1899.jpg
The Roman Catholic Church in the Australian state of Victoria has confirmed that more than 600 children have been sexually abused by its priests since the 1930s.
The Archbishop of Melbourne, Denis Hart, described the figures as "horrific and shameful".
They were released in a submission to a state parliamentary inquiry into the handling of abuse cases.
Campaigners say the true number of abuse victims could be up to 10,000.
In its submission, the church said the 620 cases went back 80 years with the majority taking place between the 1960s and the 1980s.
It says it is still investigating a further 45 cases.
In a statement, Archbishop Hart said it was important to be open "about the horrific abuse that has occurred in Victoria and elsewhere".
"We look to this inquiry to assist the healing of those who have been abused, to examine the broad context of the church's response, especially over the last 16 years, and to make recommendations to enhance the care for victims and preventative measures that are now in place," the statement said.
Campaign groups say that many cases of abuse have gone unreported, and they believe the true number of victims is closer to 10,000 in Victoria alone.
Abuse of children by Roman Catholic priests has been a major issue in Australia recent years.
During a visit to Australia in July 2008, Pope Benedict XVI met some of the victims and made a public apology for the abuse.

Moscow 'drunk driver' kills seven on Minsk Street
https://teakdoor.com/images/imported/2012/09/1921.jpg
A drunk driver killed seven people and injured three others by crashing his car into a bus stop in Moscow, Russian police say.
The 29-year-old driver, who was arrested at the scene, had his licence suspended in 2010 for drunk driving, officers said.
Interfax news agency quoted a police official as saying he was driving at about 200km/h (125mph).
If convicted, he could face up to nine years in jail.
"As a result of a test that was conducted, it was determined that at the time of the accident the driver was in a state of alcoholic intoxication," a statement on the Moscow police website said.
The crash occurred on Minsk Street in the west of the city.
Unconfirmed reports said some of the crash victims were children.
The Russian government has taken steps to curb alcoholism in recent months, raising taxes on beer, and passing a bill banning internet advertising of alcoholic drinks.
