cujobytes: While I am certain he would be acquitted of these charges it would still mean he would be held for up to a month before the trial date (No bail on Drugs dealing charges).

Surely as a lawyer you would point out that his demand for money from your client is an act of extortion and is thus a criminal offense as defined under section 415 of the QLD Criminal Code and that it would be unfortunate to have to refer the matter to the AFP for investigation.

You would say that you have a retainer in your trust account and that trust account laws require that all withdrawels are made to accounts (ie, not cash trasfer by WU etc) which is true.
