It is a good job the Army was not asked to defend the country against a proper Foreign Enemy, with an Army as opposed to ,Quote,a few dark skinned peasants from Issean.

Note in the link you posted. Clearly not the case, but Army has said some troops are armed with live ammo as intended in my post.
"Weapons were used only in self-defence and to fire into the air. We don't find any evidence that soldiers used weapons against people,"
"The army has said some soldiers fired live ammunition into the air to try to disperse demonstrators while others used blanks and rubber bullets."
"Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect,"
thanxs mate ,
was betting semantics where going to be the case
ps : not on your cite but with the spin doc
So this is where the blood starts.
Shrine for a soldier:
this is where the lad who had the top half of his head shot off fell:
The white piece of paper is a print out of the photo of him without the top of his head, and as you would expect there was quite a lot of blood.
Underneath my feet was a nice face mask:
More to come.
Good work with pics.
How did you Feel, when you were out and about amongst this lot?
Thai official lying shocker
I think what got the army commanders to surrender was that they were on a hiding to nothing.
Using a block formation inside a narrow built-up area is pure suicide and a gross tactical blunder. The thai commanders have to have known that if the red shirts really meant business that many more soldiers would almost surely have died.

Another soldier shrine:
Well people gotta eat...
This btw is about 4 metres down from where the lad had half his head blown off... the metre long pool of his blood is just by the lamppost on the left.
More to come.
I'm sort of stunned at how the army appears to have been caught with their pants down.
looks like a few "souveniers" have been taken from those vehicles
Excellent pics.
I would be quite surprised if, as a soldier, I fired my guns at people and they didn't back off.Originally Posted by Mr Earl
No edit that: I would be scared.
Either these people have too little to lose, or they are on free handouts of Ya Ba, and I'm frankly surprised ,that they haven't yet been acused of that
(was hoping to get a bit of pointing in... just in case I missed the bullet hole in the middle of the taxi door.)
Some more soldier shrines:

Thanks for the thread and pics, Chairman Mao. It gives us a ground view.
Better than the newspapers.
Great pics, I'm a bit annoyed I didn't go over there myself but as Nawty keeps telling me I'm chicken.
Any sign of the security forces today when you were there?
On the way back out:
About 2 km away on the small bridge going over Th. Krung Kasem and the canal, 3/4 of the road was blocked by big fuk-off barricades and barb wire, with two troop trucks ransacked on Th. Luk Luang, with just a few red shirts hanging around.
Found that a bit surprising.

Great stuff, thank you. The world should see what "rubber" bullets do in Thailand.....
Maybe you can send some to CNN's Ireport About iReport
They have a wide and varied audience.
E. G.
I didn't see any security forces down there.
Just the general vibe I picked up was that there's no way these people are just going to pack up and go home. They're in it for the fight, and there's plenty of them there.
I can only see the government stepping down. They could of massacred them last night but withdrew. I just can't see the Red Shirts leaving without what they consider a fair deal. And I can't see the army willing to go back in shooting. Cause they'd have to do a fuckload of it. And I can't see them going in to massacre them, which is what it would have to be.
Good pics, even the Thai staff took an interest..
