Fred Chichin, le guitariste du duo rock français Les Rita Mitsouko, est décédé, mercredi matin, à l'âge de 53 ans, des suites d'un cancer fulgurant, ont annoncé la maison de disques Because et l'organisateur de concerts Corida. Cette maladie a emporté le guitariste en deux mois, indique leur communiqué.
Les Rita Mitsouko, que Fred Chichin avait formés avec sa compagne, la chanteuse Catherine Ringer, en 1979, avaient dû annuler plusieurs concerts, ces jours derniers, en raison de l'état de santé du guitariste. Ils auraient dû notamment se produire, mercredi soir, à L'Olympia. Leur dernier album, Variety, était sorti en avril. Les Rita Mitsouko avaient été les auteurs de nombreux tubes dans les années 80, dont Marcia baila, Y a d'la haine, Andy, Les histoires d'A ou C'est comme ça.
