Thanks mate glad you liked it
BUT TBH its only very small its no big deal , its on one of those tiny little cheap canvas boards I got hold of.
I really only use these to teach myself as I seem to learn something new every time I have a go ,, also I hope it helps others on here and to give them some ideas to go forward with .
Having said that mate as you realy seem to like it I will bring it along with me for you with your egg poacher and whats left of your sweets ( after my long journey ) :mid:
Would make a nice beer mat for you
Leave my sweets alone!
And that would be really nice mate, cheers :)
I do hope your not gonna be too disappointed as it really is tiny ,, the paintings on the small side to :)
I've got small hands Nige :mid:
Satonic. Watch out if he brings you any peanuts, they'll no doubt have started out as M&M's.
He sucks the chocolate off and leaves the nut!
:smileylaughing:
You been pm,n Dill Char:)lie ?
Had an idea this week during the boredom of work ,, saw this old bit of a broken slab in a hardcore bay ,

Covered it in black gesso to see if it could be painted on ,, now I know its a crap picture as its just something I pulled out my head ,, but also the shape of the bit is not really much good ,, just to show it can be painted on and if it had a nice pic on it could be built into an outside wall as a bit of a feature .
I think I will gesso over this again and look for a nice mountain pic to work on next week .

Happy painting :)
Been sorting out a few oldies and the last time I was in Florida I painted this little place which was over the way from the villa we had .
I,m bringing this along with me when I come over next along with a few other ones for my friend Ralph ,, I hope it will give him a few happy memories of his home land . :)

That's quite interesting mate, I tried painting a house one time, but it didn't work out.
Often my problem is trying to paint every single details instead of reducing and focusing on the 'essence' of the picture.
For sure , essentially the house is just white paper defined by a few pale lines + a little bit of shadow .
This kinda American cladding style is becoming popular over here now in the UK ,,
Stan and Hilda lost thousands through 'cladding' their home!Quote:

You remember that little picture I did on the West Coast of Lanzarote ,, well I got asked to do a bigger one on a box canvas for someone , I,ve shown him a photo of it and he is overjoyed , he will be even more pleased when he see,s it in the real :)
I have painted this on a 1.25" deep 3D box canvas , then I have made a box frame to sit it in ,, it looks really nice against a dark wallpaper behind it .
Job done :)

Sorry I should have added an important point ,, because it went into landscape format it was completely unbalanced and I struggled for a while to correct it , so I came up with some rocks in the left foreground + the big one on the L/H side I created shadow + a shaft of piercing light from behind it .
Yet another good job, Nige.
Thanks for leaving the comment MTD , allways nice to see someone appreciates the efforts :)
Pastels I have never used acrylics ,,, EG,s your man for that medium ,, hope he,s gonna teach me one day soon :)
As he should be, it is a(nother) beaut! :)Quote:
