Brill BBQ there mate hope to do me sausage on there a bit later on mate ,, will bring some special BBQ condiment over with me if you need anything mate just let me know
Nige. That's a quote from you...Make yer mind up!
Well we BBQ, chicken , sweet corn , fish wrapped in foil , pork on a skewer with peppers , that kinda thing :)
Unfortunately at the moment EG , I rather stupidly seem to have managed to loose / misplace some of my SD cards , the ones with the Chinatown pics on em , but my mate who came with us for the day also took pics with his missus so I will ask him if I cant find mine .
Among the many art websites I like to view are along the lines of the magazine one,s Artist + Illustrator being one of them , there are others available
While were waiting for Willy to complete the set I thought I,d go and have a look up in my loft ,, found this old watercolour I did in 2003 , unfortunately now consigned to the bin as mould is appearing .
I found some more half baked ones up there to , also will be going bin bound , will post them up a bit later .

I think Willy wishes he had a bigger loft...Quote:

This is a test for a couple of different application methods... pretty fuggley for sure.
I guess I'll end up using them for mixing grounds rather than just binning them . This scene is from the opening credits of the TV show Cedar Cove. About 8 in. square canvas board. Student grade UmB, R Umber, Cad Yellow, Cad Red.

Good effort EG ,, I cant quite see the probs you have with acrylics ,, but nevermind ,, do you use oils ? mabe wirth a go will give you far more working time
The sky and the waves and the far shore look very nice, the land bit on the foreground looks like Nessie coming ashore with Chef from South Park on it's back! :DQuote:

I am slowly working on my painting...
Yawn >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> we,d hardly noticed mate :)
Anyway ,, nose to the grindstone ,, I,m hoping mabe you or EG is gonna come up with the next challenge or mabe even one of the other folk who dip in and out of this thread ,, love to see anything anyone would like to see us have a go at ( as long as its legal ) :mid:
Not to worry lol have the same reaction..... that was the pinnacle of failure... it was "Supposed" to be rocks. After several messy attempts I turned it into a crappy piece of dirt.
No offense taken, I have my stuff looked at by a lot of really good artists on another forum and they never hold back. You only learn from the truth.
Nige... not a bad idea but the oils seem a bit messy to me. Am beginning to come to grips a little bit with the acrylics..... I think with the mediums available and some better pre-planning and practice with blending. the drying time can be managed somewhat.
The main problem with these student grade paints it the pigment load and the binder.... coverage is not nearly as complete as with the artist quality and some of them just literally slide around on the canvas. But problem solved, they will make for mixing grounds..... It was an experiment to see the difference between the different grades. I even got some poster paints (acrylic) from Tesco to try out. Now I know...

Oh well looks like your gonna have to upgrade to Artist quality acrylics mate .
Sorry I just cant help you with acrylics , I have never used them ,, infact I think I am gonna go and buy a crappy cheap set this weekend to give it a bash ,, will stick something up on here Sunday after , hopefully it will give someone a giggle
My humble opinion, and I think it was mentioned before, but why not have a go at a cityscape?Quote:

For this viewer it would be cool to see what you guys would do with something more industrialised, maybe a night scene or something.
Just my tuppence worth :)
Well, his attic does...Quote:
