    Yep HSBC were bullshitting me, today they were more honest.

    It's not temporary, it is the norm and they cannot provide instant accross border transfer into Thailand, it will take the same time as it does to get to me at any other bank.

    It is free of charge though, so I'll compare the exchange rates when the money arrives and if that turns out to be the value, then I'll stick with an improper bank.

    I remember them taking as much 1 or 2 THB per USD

    on a 20k transfer, that was about 40,000 THB lost

    the transfer fee is about 75 USD with HSBC (while other banks charge about 50 USD)

    The transfer fee is free with what i am doing now, however if the transfer rates don't add up then fuck ém, I'll close the thai accounts as quick as i opened them, no skin off my nose
