Thread: The pink id card for foreigners

I found another benefit of my Pink ID card today.

My wife was diagnosed with having 20% hearing loss. The helpful Welfare Dept officer at the hospital accepted my suggestion that it was industrial deafness caused by her ears spending so many years in close proximity to her mouth, and as such, she is entitled to an 800 baht per month disability pension.

The best part was that by submitting my pink card, house registration book and attestation from the Puyai Baan that I am her sole supporter, I am entitled to a 60,000 baht per year vehicle allowance tax deduction as her carer.

I was quite chuffed about that until the accountant told me that she already claims the 60K deduction for me based on being over 60. I didn't even know I was already entitled to this but I suppose it's the thought that counts.
