Increases in U.S. visa fees....

While this may not be applicable to anyone here perhaps it might be helpful to know for anyone who knows someone wanting to go to the U.S.

A side-effect of the recent push to legalize all the illegal Mexicans here in the States is that in order to increases the size of the USCIS (the agency that handles immigration here) the fees on most legal visas are going up, up, up to help fund the hiring of more workers! In some cases very substantial fee increases of almost $1,000 for a visa.

Sounds like the Social Security ponzi scheme. Those wishing to apply legally to enter the U.S. are going to pay the way for those who are here illegally since it's expected that the illegals will simply apply for fee waivers.

The proposed fee hikes take place this week and thus far have drawn almost 40,000 negative comments on the government's website (Regulations.gov). Of course the politicians don't care.
