Palimanan Stone

Finally the stone has arrived this has taken over 4 months to be delivered, not all their fault bad weather and the amount I wanted needed to match up the best they could and also I requested they cut it at their factory to the sizes I wanted so the amount is 250sqm it has landed here in Phuket and if all things being equal will be delivered tomorrow (Wednesday)

This will be one of the last major jobs to be done, around the house we can walk under cover I virtually done everything else apart from the walk way which at the moment is sandwash it's been down now about 5 years it looks tired and stained and plus it spoils the the rest of the house

I think Palimanan stone also stains - how are you going to avoid that?


PALIMANAN STONE

The same issue exists with the local sand stone known as Palimanan. White Palimanan stone is a beautiful crisp finish, but being porus its not suitable for floors as it absorbs dirt and things like red wine. The only way to attempt to clean it is with harsh chemicals.

Many architects are fascinated with its look and cost efficiency, and will go on rhapsodically about the virtues of sealant to protect against stains, but they rarely will show up and help you try to clean the floors after a few seasons of tropical weathering and normal use.

With sandwash every time you jet wash you lose the colour, with the natural stone it will keep it's colour.

i used to lay that stuff here in the yookay,nice finish if its done properly, make sure its pointed well as thats definately the key to a nice look, white or buff does the job, you can get stuff called geofix here which you just brush in with no need to point and half the time, good luck, and cant wait to see the finished product

we do a good bit today but out come the beers and the red wine no sooner than 5pm bye the way and her indoors made some ribs on the BBQ and we had some Kung.

Yeah it looks good giving it one more coat of sealer today better than that sandwash before
