    Raised House All Cement

If you build a raised house on post about 9 to 12 feet above ground level made only with iron, cement, blocks, etc. No wood. Is it feisable, do-able, expensive? The ground level floor would be cement no walls, and used for parking the car, cooking, sitting out, etc.

What are your thoughts? Good idea? Bad idea? Stupid idea? Cost Estimates? Etc?

Only wood is some door frames and a couple doors. metal roof supports and Tile roof. house is one story sitting on the ground.

Yes, it's feasable and doable, the cost is less than the traditional wood structure these days.

An all concrete house is going to be much heavier than a half wooden house.

The supporting posts would have to be thicker or closer spaced.
Slab and pile might be needed to stop it sinking into the ground.

Sinking into the ground. That's what I am worried about. The house would be built in an area that has not flooded in 25 years, but?? What if??

No sure if I understand "slab and Pile" Does this refer to wider and deeper footings with large cement post reinforced with adequate iron?

Just build a two story house and then knock the ground floor out

Actually if I was building a new house I'd probably build a single story on stilts
