I see a few people that do this but I often wonder. What about the natural air flow? i.e. wind. Plus, it would seem to me that concrete does retain a bit of heat. So if the fence is close to any plants or windows what is the long term effect?

maybe you get a micro-climate! I was thinking of having my front wall 3 metres high, for privacy, and design reasons. It is not too long, about 20m; the side walls can be 2m, and one is already there.

as for airflow, if there is a wind it seems to swirl around anyway!
    I have reported your post

Sounds reasonable Andy, if privacy is your thing.

I'm not so much interested in privacy as:
    1. keeping snakes and soi dogs and critters outta my shit
    2. deliniating MY boundary and keeping squatters, riff-raff and other TD posters away from me and my dog
    3. keeping neighbors offa my fruit trees (or at least make it a breaking-and-entering sorta deal -- you didn't just stumble in, bastard)

Still looking for options on how to fence off about an acre in Issan.

how many girls, holding hands, would it take for an acre?

as for the privacy thing, the land is in the centre of Chiang Mai, opposite a small office block

My fence is purely to keep squatters and riff raff out. No plans to build for at least 8 months. There is no way a walk way or a road can go through my fence.

I still think a woven wire (US style) mixed with a Thai hedge/plant is the best way to go. Anyway, with my land this is the direction that I am leaning.

You aint gonna keep snakes and critters off the property!

Here is a typical Thai barbed wire fence. This fence circles a small farm in the middle of my neighborhood. Rumor has it that the owner is not afraid to use a slingshot to keep out pesky animals or people.

Now while this is a fancy fence, it would be fairly expensive fo a rai or two. I believe this fence is actually concrete that is designed to look like wood.

Brilliant! Get the stunners to face in toward your house and the mutts to face outward. You could hold theme days like go-go bars to add spice to the neighborhood! They can wave their bikini tops and I'll even install dancin poles for the exceptional talent.

can I git a hell yeah?

I know a few fences from many years spent living in the smoke.. if you've got something dodgy to sell I may be able to get you a good price

Who did it...sounds like you paid too much. Did you use breeze blocks or red bricks?
