Prices on Daikin air condition inverter units?

    Hello guys.

I’m new on this great forum and I have a question.

As it is now I’m living in Sweden and are planning to buy a house in Phuket.

I would like to upgrade the air condition units before they build the house, but they want 128 000 bath for this upgrade.

I think this is quite much for an upgrade to 4 Daikin inverter units from 4 cheep no-name on-off air condition units…..

In the house there should be 2 on 18000 BTU, 1 on 16000 BTU and 1 on 12000 BTU.

So is the price I got for 128 000 Bath for this upgrade reasonable?

I think is too much. Anybody have any opinion about this?

Sunday I am having two Mitubishi air conditioners put in my living and dining room. One at 24,000 BTU and the other at 15,000 BTU. The total including installation is 60,000. So yours seem a bit high. It depends on the brand and the bells and whistles that come with the machine.

I think I paid around 70,000bt for a 24,000btu & 18,000btu Daikin about 3 years ago. So I'd say not too far off but maybe a little high.

we paid quite a bit less for new aircons, Daikin 18k at B23000 each fitted

if fitting instead of ones in place, it should be a bit cheaper

but mine were not Inverter units which cost more

so the price is not horrible

Does sound rather high to me too. But saying that I believe it traditional for construction companies of all sizes to quote low to get the contract and to make the real profits from gauging the client for variations to the contract/specification.

Note that the prices quoted on power buy will include fitting with a reasonably long pipe run and then a per meter increment just for the copper.

You could always not get any installed until the house is finished then buy them yourself.

Just greened the OP, the thread was going great and then, poof, it was screwed up as so many are.

Dick, you are getting a decent deal, just make sure the installation is top notch.

I just looked at 13,000btu Panasonic Inverter 34,500 , So i would say the price for this time of year is OK

ageing one makes a good point. the op has asked a very precise question and we should respect that precision in our replies. he did not ask if daikin was a good brand, if he should change builder or even build a house.... so lets not take the thread there, there are threads on this ad nausium.

essentially the builder is charging you what he thinks he can get away with, i.e not enough for you to say forget it, i will go to powerbuy and sort it out myself. And do you want the hassle of doing that? probably not.

I would not let anyone do any work at all to my home if I was not there.

as I posted, I had Daikins installed but not the inverter type

so depending on the price of those, the deal may well be OK
