Vacant Plots - Tracing the Owners

Is it possible to trace the owners of vacant land plots.

There's a plot directly across from the one we already own that I would be interested in buying, if I could only find out who owns it.

I don't want to ask the neighbours as that might alert the owner there is a Farang and his fat wallet involved.

I think if you take your land papers into the land office it can be traced, may have to pay a little bribe though

DD - I think that only works if they have a Chanote. Otherwise it becomes vastly more difficult.

Thanks for the help guys. I've traced the owner through the land office, but she's got the Farang Geld look in her eye and is asking a rediculous price for the plot. Oh Well!
