1st coat.
Looks much better.
Another 2 coats over the next 2 days, and donesie.
Change of plan regarding moving the lid down one ring lower, then using the top ring as a tree pot.
Will leave it like this, but put hanging flowers on top hanging down the side, some of me Koh Kret pottery, maybe a family of clay rabbits or some such for the kid, some pebbles, a few mouse traps to catch nosey little fingers etc.
I'm sure Sir Shy Guava knows his stuff.
Gotta get to the 7 and get some chocolate cupcakes to catch E+E with a beauty of a 'Belgian chocolate lava cake' prank.
Edmond + Co. Painters - 'Paid to paint, not to care' now available for onsite jobs.
It needs a couple of those pottery big bum and bust women and a massive cock
Went with these:
Though I think they're made from some sort of poly-your-train plastic thing, so will probably blow away in the wind.
Will look at hanging plants/flowers to hang off the edge of it.
Full sunlight all day, watered at around 8am and 6pm everyday. Any recommendations for hanging down plants/flowers that take to such conditions? Cheers
We once had a good poster named Mr Brown
Was that you, Mao ?
This outdoor table could probably get some attention.
Heavy grit sandpaper.
Light grit sandpaper.
Clear varnish that's suitable for outdoor weather.
And B0b's yer uncle Minty's yer wife?
Thank you very much El Barto.
It appears to be 20mm thick.
Probably 10+ years old.
5 of which would have been on a veranda, in a garden or on a balcony.
It was redone by a Somchai when we moved to the villa around 10 months ago.
Using materials bought in a 20 baht shop, by the looks of things.
A poster with recent wooden table refurbishment mentioned using oil instead of varnish.
Any recommendations for wood oil brands?
I like it clear as I like natural wood. (leave it Dave44 )
Cheers.
^ If it's going to be out in the rain, maybe a preservative/varnish would be better. I believe that Barty knows a lot more about this than me.

So, it would be case of applying only this after sanding, and not this + oil or this + varnish?
Mate, I know little to nothing when it comes to surface finishing on wood. I know even less when it comes to outdoor finishes. I recall watching some YouTube videos on the subject of outdoor finishes a few years ago and the conclusion was that there isn't really any oil or varnish that is great. The main issue is UV protection, over time all the oils and varnishes fail. So expect that every 3–5 years having to redo it again if you do not like the patina look.
My suggestion to Edmond is to get on the TOA and Berger local websites and research for an outdoor finish that appeals to him. Then see if the table top can easily be removed, sand both sides (80, 120, 180 and maybe 220 grit), and on the underside of the top apply the chosen finish to a small section. If it looks good, then coat both sides, if not buy another product and retest.
Edmond, what sanding equipment do you have?
On me veranda between the villa and garden.
Full sun for probably 5 or 6 hours a day unless I nick me a beach umbrella.

Ordered this in clear, so now just need to get me those sand paper grits that Sir Barto instructed me to and Edith should be ready to get stuck in.
